100 Favourite Songs #97 ‘Hang of Little Tomato’ – Pink Martini

I could write pages about this wonderful band from Portland, Oregan.  Essentally, they are an old fashioned show band.  Fronted mainly by China Forbes and guests their music evokes an old worldly feel of lounge bars and hotel lobbies, cruise liners and Vegas show clubs.  Always velvet smooth and classy.

Nicole Andrews is my latest discovery. I happened across her at the Wellington Public Library and instantly fell in love with her sound – across between Tori Amos and Kate Bush.
