Fly My Pretties – Elemental – Great Hall Massey University, 19/10/2024

Fly My Pretties is a genuine institution. And people love it. Barnaby thanked everyone for taking a risk, paying for a ticket for music they’d never listened to, collaborations with people they’d possibly never heard of. But that was the Kaupapa. And there’s a lot of love and trust in that.

Mermaidens – San Fran, Pōneke, 9 December 2023

Now split between Pōneke and Tāmaki Makaurau indie three-piece Mermaidens have been bouncing around the motu in support of their fourth, self-titled album. Tonight was their homecoming. Tim Gruar fronted up in his double denims to hear some new material from one of the Capital’s most beloved acts.
