1. The Wombats – ‘Greek Tragedy’ / Single (Warners) – “Suede-like, aching and epic anthem. Very mid 90’s Anglo-pop”
2. Fox Stevenson – ‘All My Love’ / Single (Universal) – “Nifty Electro-pop about getting a, errr – soda pop. Go figure.”
3. St Vincent – ‘Bad Believer’ / Single (Caroline/Universal) (listen on youtube)- “Annie Clark’s in her epic element, bashing away at the ol’ themes of sin and sinning. This could be a flipside to her wonderful ‘Jesus Saves, I spend’. Check her out if you’re at Laneway Festival this weekend. If you’re that lucky!”
4. Bahari – ‘Wild Ones‘ / Single (Universal) – “Ethereal, harmonious, laid back, sweet vocals. This little known 3-girl group are on to something. If you like First Aid Kit then you’ll go for this. Album forthcoming later in ’15, so I’m told.”
5. Alice Wonderland feat Wayne Coyne – “U Don’t Know” / Single (EMI/Universal) – “Not exactly sure what The Flaming Lips’ Front Man really adds, apart from some sweet-as falsetto’s but this slice of mid-2000 doof doof ifs kinda catchy.”
